Our Mission:

The Art Council of Southwest Florida is dedicated to expanding the range of art appreciation and creative art opportunities for the residents of southwest Florida and the many thousands of people from all over the world who visit here annually.

Charter:

The Art Council of Southwest Florida is an "umbrella" organization that works to support and further energize the efforts of its member art organizations and studios across 5 counties (Lee, Collier, Charlotte, Hendry & Glades counties). These organizations have a combined membership of more than 6,000 artists and craftspeople.

We are committed to the education of private individuals and artists including:

  • Providing and coordinating exhibitions and art-related activities of the member art leagues that compose the Art Council of Southwest Florida.

  • The exchange of ideas, promotion, and appreciation of art, by and for the public interest and the membership of the corporation's member leagues through exhibitions, and coordination of member league activities.

  • Presentation of art demonstrations, workshops, classes, art lecturers and internet activities to promote the visual arts in Southwest Florida.

Goals:

  • To support its member art studios and organizations via the ACSWF website (www.artcouncilswf.com), social media and other marketing efforts to publicize their workshops, exhibits, and a range of other creative activities.

  • To provide networking opportunities for sharing ideas concerning art appreciation, art education, and art creation.

  • To establish/manage co-operative art galleries -- branded as COCO Art Gallery -- thus providing a quality exhibit and sales opportunity for the artists and craftspeople who are members of the Council's affiliate organizations (website www.cocoartgallery.com).
