Demonstration

Marjorie Pesek is shown explaining "layered imagery," the technique that she has developed "
to tell the story of a subject’s memorable events and its life journey."

Her presentation concluded the Nov. 12 General Meeting of the Art Council. Hosted by the Marco Island Center for the Arts, the meeting was held at the COCO Art Gallery which offered attendees a look at the artwork exhibited there during November.

Celebrating the arts

Lydia Black, executive director of the Alliance for the Arts, was the
featured presenter at the Art Council's "Celebration of the Arts" on
Oct. 8 at the Alliance, a kick-off to the arts in-season in South Florida.

Lydia highlighted the many benefits of the arts in our region -- multi-
millions of dollars in economic support and also the many other ways
in which art enhances the opportunities and enriches the varied
lifestyle of the south Florida community.

On hand at the Celebration -- and thanked for their many hours of vol-unteer service -- were Art Council Delegates, Council Officers, and members of the Gallery Team, which operates the COCO Art Gallery.
